Barn, Ridge Road, Stirling-Rawdon: The stone walls of the lower floor support the wood- framed barn with wood siding. The barn is covered by a "broken roof" (gambrel roof) consisting of a low-sloped upper roof and a steeper-sloped lower roof. This type of roofline is fairly common among farmhouses in southern England from the 17th century. This familiar shape of barn is fast disappearing from our landscapes and being replaced by more modern structures.
