Concessions are numbered from south to north in Mayo Township, and lots from west to east. Lots are surveyed in straight rows. What appears to be an aberration in Concessions A and B are lots which were surveyed along the original Monck Road, a colonization road which ran from the Ottawa Valley westward through Bancroft.
